Born in Paris
The story of Maison L’Atribu begins with a love for art and textures. Eugénie decides to launch her first collection during her last year of Bachelor in Fashion Design at La Chambre Syndicale de la Couture in Paris. Soon after she starts her journey as a young designer in some of the most iconic Maison, well-known for their craftsmanship, such as Sonia Rykiel, Paco Rabanne or Loris Azzaro. In 2016, she is now ready to take the leap and decides to build her own personal brand.
The genesis
Maison l’Atribu initiates its journey in Paris, essence of the savoir-faire and scene of the Haute Couture magic, the capital is source of great creativity and of the most beautiful fabrics you could ever expect. Since her early years as an intern in the fashion design world, Eugenie started observing a repeating pattern, some of the fabrics from previews collections were donated to fashion students or sold in retail shops. So she went after these fabulous textiles and created her first capsule. All the different pieces would have a unique identity, and, the originality of the collection would reveal the main character of Eugenie’s vision, a love for textures, embellishments and a profusion of colors.

A traveling brand
The brand takes off first in Uruguay, hometown of Eugenie’s mother, more specifically in Jose Ignacio, the little Saint-Tropez of South America. Along with its “art de vivre” and the bohème chic vibes, the whole place corresponds perfectly to the creative bubble of Maison L’atribu. The success of the pop-up store is there and after the sunny season, Eugenie considers staying around, her family has a strong connection with Brazil so her debut in São Paulo’s growing fashion market begins. The trips to the biggest retail fair in Paris, Première Vision, are an important pillar for inspiration, along with the sourcing of materials that she brings to Brazil and starts designing her collections.
Collabs with artists
Collabs with artists are a great leitmotif in Eugenie’s work. She signs some really exclusive designs with Brazilian artist Renato Dib, he explores the magma of the fabric and creates organic and vivid forms. Her longtime friend, French painter, Isabelle Ribot, gave birth to a magnificent kimonos capsule. Isabelle’s art called “Memórias Afectivas” in which she actually maps out all the rivers that circulate in São Paulo, a city that was built on top of these water points and causes today a lot of infrastructure problems. The amazing acrylic palette reveals the construction of her paint throughout, the exclusiveness of each kimono. Eugenie gives a voice to the artist to help her creations come alive.
